Travel and Transportation to AJLS 30

AJLS 30 will primarily be held at the University of Pittsburgh campus located in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The conference hotel, Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center, is also located in Oakland.  Pittsburgh is accessible by airplane, train, bus, as well as car.

 

Parking in Oakland

For those staying at the Wyndham University Center, paid overnight parking is available to hotel guests for $29.00 USD a day.

Traveling to AJLS 30 by Plane

The airport welcomes both Uber and Lyft. Hail a ride with your smartphone app and meet your driver outside Baggage Claim Door #4 at the Commercial Arrivals Curb.

Public Transportation

Pittsburgh Regional Transit offers public bus transit service to and from Pittsburgh International Airport via the 28X Airport Flyer bus. The 28X route serves Pittsburgh International Airport, Robinson Towne Center, Downtown Pittsburgh, and Oakland seven days a week.

Riders using cash to pay their transit fares must have exact change; credit cards are not accepted on vehicles. Bus fare is $2.75.

Credit cards are accepted at the ticket vending machine in Baggage Claim inside Door #2. The ticket vending machine allows riders to buy daily, 7-day or 30-day tickets, or add stored value onto a ConnectCard or ConnecTix.

Taxi & Shuttles

Taxi services at Pittsburgh International Airport and within the City of Pittsburgh is provided by zTrip. zTrip taxi services are available upon arrival at the airport. After you land, proceed to the Landside Terminal, go to the lower level,  then exit through the "commercial" doors and head toward the taxi stand area on the curb where cabs are waiting. Car Rental Services

Pittsburgh International Airport features car rental providers like Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National. With rental counters on the Baggage Claim level of the Landside Terminal, it is just a short walk to the garage to pick up your vehicle.

Rental car pick-up and return areas are located on the first level of the parking garage.

Traveling to AJLS 30 by Train and Bus

By rail, the primary station in Pittsburgh is Pittsburgh Union Station and is located in the Downtown area of the city. Rail service is provide by Amtrak. You can learn more about rail access at: https://www.amtrak.com/stations/pgh

For those traveling to AJLS by bus, the Pittsburgh Greyhound Station is located just across the street from Pittsburgh Union Station. Other bus companies that offer services to Pittsburgh pick up and drop off at the nearby David Lawrance Convention Center, which is just two blocks from the main train and bus terminals.

Once you've arrived at Pittsburgh Union Station, you can easily catch Pittsburgh Regional Transit buses to Oakland. Stops for all #61 and #71 buses are just a short walk from the station.
